Wow, what were they thinking?

I preview a lot of homes for Clients. I often find myself saying "wow, what were they thinking???"

Here is a backyard pool / swingset that raises all sorts of questions such as Who, What, When ,Where and Why?

Smokers lived here

Yikes!
This is from smokers, not the fireplace.
The entire house has a layer of tar

A foundation for disaster

How important is a proper foundation and soil analysis?

This was still under construction so only one person died.

A quick way to increase a home's value...

This home in a nice, older area of Tulsa, Oklahoma INCRESED in value when the tree crashed into it.
Not due to excessive insurance, but something much more interesting.
Can you think of why?
.
.
.
The house is in a historical district so renovations are severely limited.
By virtue of the destruction it became possible to get building permits to do structural upgrades.
Everything can be rebuilt to look as it did before but with modern materials, methods, and features.
