I see this a lot.
Some people don't know, or don't care that that blue film is just for protection during shipping. I have even seen well used, expensive stainless steel appliances with tattered film peeling off.
My brother had a nice watch but it had become so scratched that it was unusable. With a wave of my hand (and a sly removal of the clear film) I restored it to like new condition. Instant hero!
I preview a lot of homes for Clients. I often find myself saying "wow, what were they thinking???"
Here is a backyard pool / swingset that raises all sorts of questions such as Who, What, When ,Where and Why?
